March, 2008, saw the official launch of our 2008 competition, Show.
Heats will be held throughout many of the counties in Ireland in the coming months, where one male and one female will represent their county in the All Ireland Grand Final, in the Red Cow Inn, Dublin, in 2008.

In front of a panel of judges contestants will perform one song, and the eventual winners will be announced "Irish Karaoke Champions" - Winners (one male & one female) will then go on to represent Ireland in the World Karaoke Championships in Finland / Estonia - where entry fees, flights and accommodation will be paid for by Karaoke Ireland.

Karaoke Definition :

Japanese word for Sing-Along literally meaning "Empty Orchestra" with the lyrics displayed on your TV screen. All songs are performed in the style of the original artist. In Karaoke you have the music and backing vocals, while you sing the lead vocal. Don’t know the words? No problem. Karaoke sound tracks allow the lyrics to scroll across the screen of a standard TV.
