Karaoke World Champions for 2008: Juliet Gonnet, France and Michael Bates, Australia. First runner up in female category is Elaine O'Halloran, Ireland. First runner up in male category is Anthony Garcia, Great Britain. Second runner ups are Jasmin Kara, Sweden and Medhanie Mezgebe.

Bigjohnskaraoke is the kildare carlow kilkenny partner of the karaoke world championship for 2009.
The heats of the championships are held nationwide in ireland seeking out the best singers Ireland has to offer to represent karaoke Ireland
at the world championship.
The 2008 championship was held in Lahti, Finland, and was a huge success.
